Who we are
Sweet Pea and Sonder Floral Studio was conceptualised while training at Tallulah Rose Flower School. Having made the move from weddings and events to floristry and freelancing in a local flower shop, I decided it was time to bet on myself, make what I want to make and work with clients looking for something a little different.
Inspired by the rich tones of the Pre-Raphaelites, the textures of Victorian lace and the poetry of Florence + The Machine, my work evokes the delicate nature of a world gone by mixed with the strong feminine energy of the modern day.
Here’s where our name was born. The sweet pea, known for its light and ruffled texture and delicate aroma, is said to denote life’s blissful pleasures; like walking into a ray of sunlight on a cold day or hearing your favourite song while out for a coffee. Historically given as a way of thanking another for a fleeting moment in time, it symbolises good luck and well wishes. They also happen to be my grandfather’s favourite flower - making them extra special to me.
Sonder is the realisation that everyone we meet in this life is at the centre of their own story: we all have our own ambitions, priorities and wants but are constantly interconnecting with each other and finding those little pockets of joy in the stories of others.
Our designs encapsulate both of these elements by being light and delicate but also loud and powerful. Exactly the way yours truly tries to live everyday.
Flowers are a luxury that I am fortunate to spend my days with and they are a luxury that I want to bring to you. Whether that’s in an everyday bouquet or for one of life’s many special occasions. Everyone deserves to elevate their everyday.
Prior to floristry I worked as an events manager and wedding co-ordinator, meaning that I am a one woman encyclopaedia of event knowledge. Come to me with some favourite flowers and a vibe and I will find you the perfect venue, dress and suppliers. I am here for any questions you may have and offer my support all the way up until your big day. I also know how hard it can be to make plans to say goodbye to our loved ones and to know what to do for the best; along with your funeral director I am available to help in any way I can to ensure you give them the best possible send off.
